Field Sales

Growing national metals distributor is seeking experienced outside sales representative. Successful candidates will have experience selling in the metals distribution sector, and/or significant knowledge of the semiconductors or solar production industry.

Position involves traveling throughout territory to call on prospective customers to solicit orders. This includes additional follow up via telephone and email when necessary. Candidate will also be responsible for tracking customer information in computer database. Candidate must be aggressive, competitive and self-motivated, detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Growing business with established customers and for securing and growing business with new customers.
  • Coordinating all sales and customer service activities.
  • Building strong relationships with customer, developing personal trust.
  • Working with Regional & National Management to develop quotations and proposals that are appropriate for each customer and ensure the profitability of the company.
  • Providing market intelligence to Regional and National Management in order to shape strategies, price levels and other decisions.
  • Increasing sales to existing customers by expanding product lines and items sold.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience with aluminum or stainless steel or metals or plastic materials or other relevant experience.
  • Processing, or Semiconductors industry experience is also helpful
  • Excellent communication, time management, & problem solving skills.
  • Work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Proficient with computer applications and internet based applications.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Additional skills required include; interpersonal skills, motivation (energizing), negotiating (persuasiveness), versatility, organization and planning, problem solving, creativity, and tenacity.
